Job Description: Housing Case Manager

Requested Action:


Take the following actions effective January 1, 2023:

  1. Approve the job description, set the salary range and add to the alphabetical listing of classifications and allocate to the County Administraive Office - Grant's Division a Housing Case Manager at range G197; and
  2. Delete the allocation for one Grants Coordinator I/II.
Fiscal Impact:

Approximate cost in salary and benefits per month for a Housing Case Manager at A step is $6,408.
Summary:

It has been requested by the Grants Division to adopt a new classification series entitled Housing Case Manager.

 

Modifying the position allocation list will add a staff position to the Housing Division to meet the demands of serving more unsheltered persons given increases in grant revenue for housing programs. The department is positioning itself to deliver additional housing and homeless services and the addition of a Housing Case Manager will help facilitate this.

 

The department is not requesting an additional allocation, only to remove their current Grants Coordinator allocation and replace the allocation with the Housing Case Manager allocation.

 

The Union has reviewed this and is in support.

Do not approve and direct staff.
Departmental Recommendation:

It is the department's recommendation that the Board take the following actions effective January 1, 2023:

  1. Approve the job description, set the salary range and add to the alphabetical listing of classifications a Housing Case Manager at range G197; and
  2. Modify the Grants Division departmental allocation listing to read: One (1)Housing Case Manager; and
  3. Remove the Grants Coordinator allocation.
